Fat Burning Food

Foods that can burn fatEating healthy is not enough to lose weight and keep it off but it is the best way to lose weight, have a balanced diet, get obesity help, and have a heart healthy diet. Of course, choosing an apple over a quarter pound bacon cheeseburger is always a healthy step in the right direction. But most people don’t want to just be healthy they also want to look good. These two things usually go hand in hand, but surprisingly there are some foods that can actually help in burning fat instead of going on crazy things like a crash diet, and other foods that, while not unhealthy, will actually cause you to keep instead of shed extra pounds. If you’re struggling with your weight and want to know how to lose 10 pounds or more, then it’s also important to know not just about healthy foods, but also fat burning food that is going to help you ultimately lose unwanted fat.  Some diets such as the Dukan Diet and grapefruit diets may provide these types of fat burning food.

What are fat burning food

Simply, fat burning food contain ingredients that require more calories to break down and prevent the body from quickly turning all the energy into fat. The best fat burning food to add to your diet is actually a strange and unexpected list that includes protein powder, peanut butter, olive oil, eggs, soy, and tea. Why are these listed as burning fat? As it turns out, these foods contain key ingredients that are essential to healthy weight loss.

First, let’s consider protein powder, eggs, fish, and soy products. They are all fat burning because they’re high in amino acids, which regulate proteins in the body. While the human body manufactures a small amount of amino acids, most comes from food. Without enough amino acids in the body, muscles begin to deteriorate and this is detrimental to losing weight and burning fat. Why, because muscles naturally burn more calories than fat. Ergo, the more muscle mass a person has, the more calories they burn, even while they sleep!

Another great thing about the aforementioned foods, including peanut butter is that they are all high in protein. Foods that are high in protein will keep you fuller longer. They also make your body expend more calories to break them down. According to health.com, digesting foods that are higher in protein will actually use up about 30% of the calories consumed from that food.

  • Soy products are probably one of the most powerful fat burning foods on the list. Not only are they high in amino acids and protein, but they are also high in iron. According to health.com, about 20% of Americans are iron-deficient, which is a huge problem for anyone looking to burn fat and lose weight. Not only is iron absolutely necessary to maintain proper muscle mass, but a deficiency in any essential mineral in the body will slow metabolism, making it much harder to shed pounds.

  • Tea, especially green tea also has special properties that make it a fat burning food. It contains EGCG, which is a potent antioxidant. It has many therapeutic uses, and also speeds up the metabolism. Drink this beverage either hot or cold, but be sure to avoid putting a lot of sweetener into it and stay away from canned green teas. Although the EGCG will still work, the extra sugar will slow down your weight loss.

  • Olive oil may appear to be the strangest of the fat burning foods mentioned on the list. Because this food is high in fat, it seems counterintuitive to think that this food would help with weight loss. You certainly should not down a cup of olive oil at a time. However, the body does need fat in order to properly function and olive oil contains monounsaturated fats, which keeps LDL cholesterol (commonly known as “bad cholesterol”) low, while not affecting HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol.)

Foods that are not fat burning

Of course there are foods that we all should avoid when it comes to healthy eating, but there are some that we would not think are bad for us. This is a surprisingly long list, but the worst offenders are foods that are high in sugar such as juice, soda, jarred spaghetti sauce, and simple carbohydrates such as muffins and cakes, as well as foods with refined flour, such as white bread and regular pasta. These foods offer very little nutrition, so the body breaks them down quickly and throws what it doesn’t need into fat cells.

What else can help burn fat?

As mentioned earlier, a person with more muscle tone will burn more calories than those who do not. So just as important as eating the right fat burning foods is, a person also needs to know about what the best fat burning exercises are. There are many programs on the market that can help with this, such as the Fat Burning Furnace and Customized Fat Loss. They offer a litany of fat burning exercises that many people have followed and found helpful. However, if you don’t like turning to a program regimented by someone else to help, then you don’t actually need to use these programs. It’s possible to design your own fat burning workouts, as long as you know which exercises typically work best.

What are the best fat burning workouts?

Typically, a good cardiovascular workout will help to burn a large amount of fat and calories in a short amount of time. Jogging, biking, swimming, or practicing martial arts are excellent examples. You will also want to consider weight training with dumbbells. For the best results, aim to do about 3 to 5 sets of 12 to 15 reps with each exercise; while these exercises won’t bulk you up very fast, they will get your heart racing and make you burn fat very efficiently. So if you combine working out with eating fat burning food you will succeed in losing weight.
